ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT

 
WHO IS THIS FOR?  
Upon completion of this program, students will be proficient using e-mail, conducting searches on the World Wide Web, and have a good understanding of the most important internet tools.  Students will also acquire typing skills and computer topics and terminology will be introduced.  Instructions will include office procedures, phone skills and career skills.  Computer hardware, software, peripheral devices networks, computer risks, benefits, and personal computer applications will be covered during the program.  Hands-on instructions in Microsoft Windows, working with files, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Access, Microsoft Power Point, and Microsoft Outlook will be presented.  In addition trainees will spend a minimum of 10 weeks using acquired skills during their externship at various companies (subject to meeting internship qualification criteria).
